At ETCH Outdoor Living, we had the pleasure of working on a project for a client in Urbandale, IA. Our team met with them to discuss their vision and goals for their outdoor space, which included installing steps and a patio. We then got to work, starting with the steps that would lead from where the patio area was going to be to the backdoor of their house. Then, we installed the patio using concrete pavers. Finally, we filled in areas between it and the home with rocks as a finishing touch.

We met with the client for a consultation to discuss their goals and help with the design phase.

Before starting any construction work, we always prioritize understanding our client’s needs and preferences. For this particular project, we scheduled a detailed consultation session with our client. This allowed us to thoroughly comprehend their vision while also offering expert advice based on our extensive experience in creating stunning outdoor environments.

During the consultation, we discussed various aspects such as layout options, material choices, color schemes, and overall aesthetics. By actively engaging in open communication, we were able to establish a clear understanding of what our client envisioned for their new outdoor space. Once all of the details were settled, we were able to get started on the project!

The first step of the project was installing outdoor steps leading from the backdoor to the future patio area.

Once the design was approved by our client, we began executing the project. The first step was to construct sturdy outdoor steps that would seamlessly connect the existing backdoor entrance to the soon-to-be-installed patio area.

To ensure durability and longevity, we paid meticulous attention to selecting high-quality materials suitable for heavy foot traffic. Additionally, precise measurements were taken to guarantee proper alignment and functionality of the steps. Our skilled craftsmen meticulously constructed each step, paying close attention to detail to ensure both safety and aesthetic appeal. Once the steps were completed, we were able to move on to the next part of the project, which was to install the patio.

The next step of the project was installing the patio itself.

After completing the installation of the outdoor steps, we shifted our focus towards bringing the centerpiece of this project—the patio—to life. The goal was to craft a spacious and inviting area where our clients could enjoy leisurely moments outdoors.

Given the importance of achieving long-lasting results, we employed industry-leading techniques during the installation process to ensure great results. Once the main patio area was completed, we installed a border around it to give it a distinct look and enhance its beauty even further!

We filled in areas between the patio and house with rocks for a finishing touch.

As part of our commitment to delivering comprehensive solutions, we took extra care to address any remaining gaps or empty spaces surrounding the newly installed patio. To add a polished finishing touch, we strategically filled in those areas using decorative rocks. This brought the entire project together and our clients were thrilled with the way that it turned out!
