We had the pleasure of collaborating with a client in Waukee, IA, who wanted to enhance their outdoor living space by having new landscape beds installed in the front of their home. We met with them for a consultation and listened carefully to their goals so that we could help bring their vision to life during the design phase. Once they approved the final design, our team got started on this project! The first step was mapping out where each bed would go before prepping the area by removing any existing grass and debris and installing weed barriers. Then, we placed edging around the newly created landscape beds and laid soil inside them. Finally, we installed plants throughout each bed according to what our client desired and then added mulch as a finishing touch.

The first step of this front yard landscaping project was to meet with our client for a consultation.

Our client contacted us because they wanted to add some visual interest to the front yard of their property in Waukee, IA. They were looking to install new landscape beds in the front of their house and have them filled with various plants. To get started, we scheduled an initial consultation with them so that we could discuss their ideas further. During this meeting, we took note of everything they said about what they were hoping to achieve through these new additions. From there, we worked closely together until we came up with a plan that met all of their expectations. The next step of this project was to map out where the landscape beds would go and prep the area.

Once our client gave us the green light to move forward with the construction process, we began mapping out exactly where each landscape bed would be located based on the approved design. After marking off those spots, we prepped the entire area by removing any existing grass or debris from within them. This way, we could have a clean slate to work with moving forward. Additionally, we installed weed barriers across the ground to prevent weeds from growing back into the landscape beds after completion.

After prepping the area, we placed edging around the landscape beds and added soil to them.

With the prep work completed, we moved on to placing edging around all of the newly created landscape beds. By doing this, we ensured that the landscape beds would be shaped just how the client wanted and it gave the beds a distinguished border. Next, we brought in fresh soil to fill up each bed so that the plants would have a nutrient-rich environment to grow in!

The last step of this project was installing plants and mulch in the landscape beds.

Finally, it was time to bring our client's dream landscape beds to fruition! First, we planted different kinds of plants throughout each bed according to what they requested. We selected specific species that would thrive well under local conditions here in Waukee, IA. Then, we topped off everything with mulch. Not only does mulch serve as an attractive addition itself but it also helps retain moisture levels in the soil underneath it while protecting against extreme temperatures too.
