When our client in Johnston, IA, reached out to our team, they expressed interest in upgrading the landscape in front of their house and outdoor living area. We worked with them to create a design of their entire project, complete with all the elements and features they wanted. We also collaborated with the builder to have their contractor install the concrete pieces. As for us, we added drainage to prevent water retention issues and helped plan the locations for drip line irrigation. We also installed landscape lighting to highlight the beauty of their property while making it safer to navigate at night. To complete this project, we strategically placed plantings throughout the landscape beds and rock ground coverings to give them a nice, finishing look.
The first step of this landscape project was to install drainage and drip line irrigation.
For this landscape project, we started by addressing the essential aspect of water management. Our team installed drainage to effectively divert excess water away from areas prone to flooding or pooling, preventing potential damage to the landscape and our client's home.
In addition to drainage, we helped plan the drip line irrigation locations. The drip system encompassed the landscape bed in front of the home, along the side, and in their outdoor living space to provide targeted watering to the root zone of the plants we were set to install. That way, it promoted healthy growth while minimizing water wastage.
Landscape Lighting Was the Next Element We Installed
The next step of this landscaping project was to focus on enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of our client's property after dark. To achieve this, we installed landscape lighting! We strategically placed the fixtures along the walkway leading to the front door to ensure easy, safe navigation. They were also added around the back patio area. These landscape lighting fixtures have a sleek design that perfectly complements the overall aesthetic of their property, allowing them to blend in seamlessly while keeping key points bright at night.
The finishing touches of this landscape project involved adding plants and rock ground covers.
To put the finishing touches on this transformative landscaping project, we turned our attention to the aesthetic elements. Our team meticulously selected and planted a variety of greenery to add color and texture to our client's landscape in front of the house, along the side, and in the outdoor living space. These plants were chosen based on their suitability for the local climate and soil conditions, ensuring long-lasting beauty and minimal maintenance requirements.
Additionally, we installed rock ground covers to make the plantings stand out and bring a clean, polished look to the landscape beds. We used gray trap rock, which further emphasized the modern aesthetic they wanted to achieve. Now, they have a cohesive design throughout the exterior of their home, boasting enhanced beauty and a functional layout they can enjoy for years to come.
